Dr. Shabek has been nominated and selected to receive the 2021 Arthur C. Neish Young Investigator Award from the Phytochemical Society of North America. The Neish Awards are given each year by the PSNA to outstanding early career scientists.

Nitzan Shabek, an assistant professor in the Department of Plant Biology, has received a $837,000 CAREER Award from the National Science Foundation. The five-year award will support Shabek’s research into elucidating the sensing mechanism of an emerging and unique class of plant hormones. Additionally, as an integral part of the research activities, this project will create a unique teaching platform and outreach program to encourage young students to pursue knowledge in STEM.

Dr. Stacey Harmer has been elected in the 2020 fellows of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, or AAAS, the world’s largest general scientific society.

Drs. Dinesh Kumar and Steve Theg have been elected in the 2019 fellows of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, or AAAS, the world’s largest general scientific society.

Dr. Siobhan Brady was recently named to Highly Cited Researchers 2018 list released by Clarivate Analytics.
